The first wave of consumer AI required users to navigate to a browser tab, open a blank chat interface, and type a prompt. The second wave is ambient: software that lives quietly in the operating system, understands active work, and responds instantly.

Ambient AI doesn't ask you to visit it in a browser tab. It remains with you in whatever software you are already using.

As we build out Maple, we are defining what it means for an assistant to be genuinely ambient rather than merely another intrusive notification engine.

The Philosophy of Non-Intrusive Intelligence

Maple never sends unprompted popup notifications, badges, or interruptions. It activates exclusively when you summon it with ⌥ Space, answers in milliseconds, and disappears the instant you return to work.
